I have always loved a moody portrait

Here is a self-portrait I made in 1997

I am a humanist,
portraitist,
optimist,
communication strategist,
and love photographer.

I studied photojournalism at Columbia College

I took with me the lessons of My high-school photography teacher, Mr. Baltz, who taught me that a camera can be a way to express your viewpoint and see a new perspective.

In college I learned from visionary photojournalists

Mary Ellen Mark & Steve Liss who taught me that nothing is more extraordinary than reality.

After College I moved to New York City.

While living in Brooklyn I learned the importance of empowered communities and the power of storytelling alongside those community based organizations.

Today I live in Seattle

I create strategic messages in collaboration with clients, social enterprises, nonprofits and communities.

I also photograph weddings all over the world.

You can usually find me near the Salish Sea, listening to Dolly Parton, writing poems in journals, and eating all of the Nutella.
